Experienced. Supportive. Extensive training.
I work as a Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Supervisor privately. I have worked for organisations specialising in addictions, abuse and trauma for over 20 years. I initially trained as a Social Worker to work with addictions. I have both managed a Counselling service and Counselling organisation.
I began my training in Counselling in Australia working on a telephone helpline in my 20’s and have continued with my training ever since. I initially trained as an integrative counsellor and was then drawn to the physical therapy of Shiatsu. In wanting to find a way to bridge these different ways of working, which includes talking and all that we experience particularly in the body, I trained as an Embodied Relational Therapist. I have since undertaken specialist trainings in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems to support my work with trauma.
I have always had an interest in other people and understanding how life is for them, particularly how someone else’s world is both alike and different to mine. I know the benefit of therapy and its value having experienced the difference it has made to those I have worked with, and for my own life.
